Our family never intended to make candy for a living.
It just sort of happened….
When our three children were looking for some extra money around the holidays, we decided to turn our toffee making skills into a learning opportunity. It was time to teach Nick, Nora, and Emily what is required to manufacture and market a product. There happened to be a local Holiday fair the following month. This is where the business began.
We had been tweaking a recipe taught to us by our dear friend Annie in Chicago. She learned the recipe from her sister-in-law Berta, who had the recipe in her family for several years. Toffee making is a very tedious project and we learned quickly that making our toffee at 8500 feet above sea level is quite different than making toffee in Chicago.
We perfected the recipe!
We then shared the recipe with friends and demonstrated the manufacturing process. They tried and tried and were not able to get the same results.
Knowing we had a unique recipe and a very difficult product to manufacture we introduced our product at the Holiday Market and the rest is history. We decided to pursue our place in the candy world as well as keeping the learning experience alive for our children. All the toffee is handmade in small batches from the finest, freshest, and most natural ingredients. The result is an amazingly thin toffee that melts in your mouth!
We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
